City of Cayce Announces Retirement of Longtime Municipal Clerk

After three decades of dedicated service, the City of Cayce announces the retirement of Cayce Municipal Clerk, Mendy Corder. Mendy started her journey with Cayce as the City’s receptionist in 1996, whereher welcoming presence and organizational skills quickly made her a valuable part of the team. She later served in the Records Department at the Cayce Police Department, supporting critical operations with professionalism, accuracy, and discretion.
She eventually returned to City Hall, where her leadership and institutional knowledge continued to grow. Mendy served as Administrative Coordinator for the City Manager’s Office, playing a key role in the day-to-day operations of City government. She also took on the responsibilities of Municipal Clerk, a role essential to ensuring transparency, compliance, and the smooth functioning of City Council andmunicipal processes.
On her long-standing service to the City of Cayce, Corder states, “I began my journey with the city at 24 years old, and nearly 29 years later, it will be the people I’ll miss most. I’ve met residents who became friends and friends who became like family. Their kindness, stories, and support over the years have meant more than I can put into words. This community has helped shape not just my career, but my life, and I’ll carry that with me always.”
In addition to serving as Cayce’s Municipal Clerk, Mendy has overseen events, such as the awardwinning Soiree on State, and managed public buildings, contributing behind the scenes to many of the programs, initiatives, meetings, and community events that residents and staff have come to enjoy and rely on. Her attention to detail, steady guidance, and commitment to service have left a lasting impact across departments.
“Throughout her extended career in Cayce, Mendy has been known for her professionalism, reliability, and compassion for our citizens. Her knowledge of our operations and her willingness to help wherever needed will be greatly missed,” stated Cayce City Manager, Michael Conley.
