City of Cayce to Hold Groundbreaking for High-End Apartments
June 12, 2014CAYCE, SC – The City of Cayce is proud to welcome the Otarre Pointe Apartment complex, a new multifamily development that will help provide homes for the City’s growing business community. A groundbreaking on the new development will be held Tuesday, June 24 at 1 PM.
The new apartments will consist of two – and three – story buildings holding 299 units on 19 acres within the Otarre Development. The development, owned by SCANA, is located directly off Interstate 77 and minutes from downtown Cayce, the Columbia Airport and other major highway systems. Amenities at the new complex will include a clubhouse containing a media center, resort-style saltwater pool, a business center and a fitness center.
The location was chosen because of its proximity to many of Cayce’s biggest businesses, including the 1 million-square-foot Amazon fulfillment center; Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corporations’ new $313 million plant and research facility;SCANA’s $235 million corporate headquarters campus; and Lexington Medical Center’s 74,000-square-foot occupational health clinic and physicians’ offices.
“The Rohdie Group’s commitment to building this new development shows just how much Cayce’s business community has boomed in recent years, and with that comes the growing need to provide housing options within the City for these industries’ employees,” stated Cayce Mayor Elise Partin. “We are so excited to see what this development can bring to our community and what it will mean for Cayce’s future growth.”
“The lack of multifamily developments in the Cayce area combined with the projected employment growth in the near future in the area provides an excellent opportunity to meet demand for our Otarre Pointe Apartments,” stated Marc Weil with the Rohdie Group, LLC, which owns the development. “Overall, this project will be able to provide local employees with Class A rental housing within very close proximity to their workplace, which is now not currently available to them.”
