City of Charleston to host AmeriCorps VISTA information session

The city of Charleston will host an Information Session for the 2020 AmeriCorps VISTA Site Selection Process to provide an overview of the AmeriCorps VISTA Program and review related regulations and site requirements. The Information Session will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the city of Charleston HR Training Room, located on the third floor at 75 Calhoun Street.

Local organizations interested in serving as host sites for the upcoming member year are encouraged to attend.

 AmeriCorps VISTA is the national service program of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) designed specifically to fight poverty. The program supports local efforts by engaging members in one year of full-time service with local organizations. All VISTA projects seek to build the capacity and sustainability of local organizations and agencies to serve their clients more effectively. 

 Host site applications are due January 30 by 3:00 p.m. and can be submitted electronically to Mindy Sturm at [email protected] or hand-delivered or mailed to 75 Calhoun Street, Suite 3700. Mailed applications must be received by the due date and time.
