City of Clinton Set to Usher in the Holiday Season with Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Carriage Rides
November 26, 2023As the holiday season approaches, the City of Clinton is gearing up for its annual Christmas Tree Lighting event on Thursday, November 30, at 6 pm. Residents and visitors alike are invited to join in the festive celebration that marks the beginning of the Christmas season.
The main event, the Christmas Tree Lighting, promises to be a spectacle of lights, colors, and holiday cheer. Families are encouraged to gather to witness the magical moment when the city’s Christmas tree comes to life.
“This annual tradition is a time-honored way for our community to come together and celebrate the magic of the holiday season,” says Mayor Randy Randall. “As we gather to witness the lighting of our Christmas tree, let us embrace the spirit of the season with joy and gratitude. It’s a special moment as we launch the holiday season in Clinton, and we welcome families, friends, and neighbors to come out and join us.”
Adding to the festivities, the city has organized carriage rides for all to enjoy. From 6:30 to 10:30 pm, families can embark on a charming journey through the illuminated streets of Clinton.
To keep the holiday spirit warm, complimentary hot chocolate will be provided, courtesy of the Vestibule. It’s an opportunity for everyone to cozy up with a cup of cocoa and enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas.
As part of the celebration, the City of Clinton is introducing a charitable initiative through the carriage rides. Tickets for the rides are priced at $5 for individuals aged 12 and over, while children aged 11 and under can enjoy the experience for free. All proceeds from the carriage rides will be dedicated to the Clinton Community Cares fund.
Established by the City Council in 2015, Clinton Community Cares is a vital program designed to assist those in the community who are facing challenges in paying their utility bills. The fund is administered by United Ministries, ensuring that the support reaches those who need it the most.
Residents are encouraged to contribute to Clinton Community Cares through their monthly utility bills. Donations can be made in various amounts, including $.50, $1.00, $2.50, $5.00, $7.50, and $10.00. Additionally, one-time donations are welcomed at the utility billing office, with a clear designation for Clinton Community Care.
The Utility Billing Office can provide more information about Clinton Community Cares and guide interested individuals on how they can contribute. They can be reached at 864-833-2790.
By participating in the annual Christmas Tree Lighting event and supporting the carriage rides, residents can usher in the holiday season with joy and also contribute to a meaningful cause that helps community members during a time when the spirit of giving is most cherished. The event is sponsored by The City of Clinton and Cooper Motor Company.
Mark your calendars, bring the whole family, and join the City of Clinton in spreading holiday joy and goodwill to all.
