City of Columbia Art Center offers fall workshops

COLUMBIA, SC – The City of Columbia Art Center is offering several workshops during the fall.

Workshops include:

The Learn to Draw Comics Workshop will take students ages 8-14 through the steps of how to draw their favorite super heroes and villains. This one-day workshop will take place at the Art Center on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The registration fee is $30 and includes all materials. The maximum class size is 12 participants. Registration is due by Thursday, October 1, 2015.

 If you are ready for some holiday cheer and card making fun, then attend the Card Making Workshop where you will learn assorted techniques to create your own Christmas and holiday cards. This workshop will occur onSaturday, November 7, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the Art Center. The registration fee is $40, which includes supplies. Registration is limited to 14 participants. Ages 8 (must be accompanied by an adult) and up can attend. Friday, October 30, 2015 is the last day to register.

The Pottery Workshop for Children is a great way for your child to create their own unique Christmas present. The workshop, offered to children ages 5-16, will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Art Center. The workshop will be divided by age groups: ages 5-9 will attend the morning session from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and children ages 10-16 will attend the afternoon session from 1:30– 4:30 p.m. Registration is limited to 12 participants for each workshop, and a minimum of three participants are required. The registration fee is $35.Registration is due by Saturday, November 7, 2015.
