City of Columbia offices closed Thursday and Friday

COLUMBIA, SC – Due to hazardous conditions, City of Columbia offices will be closed on Thursday, Oct. 8 and Friday, Oct. 9, for all city operations, with the exception of essential services. City leadership will continue to monitor conditions and make any necessary changes if the situation worsens.

Any updates regarding public safety conditions will be provided as information becomes available.

Normal household garbage collection will resume on Thursday, October 8th. Recycling pick-up and yard waste have been suspended as City crews focus on debris removal. The City will provide an update when these services resume, which should be in the near future.

Citizens whose roll-carts were lost in the storm should call Solid Waste at 545-3800, Monday – Friday from 8 a.m.– 5 p.m. or Customer Care at 545-3300 after hours to request a new cart.
