City of Columbia to host public works hiring event

WHO: City of Columbia Human Resources and Public Works Department

 WHAT: The City of Columbia is hosting a Public Work hiring event. The City of Columbia’s Public Work’s Street Division maintains and improves the City’s infrastructure. You’ll work hands-on with asphalt, concrete and storm drainage systems, contributing directly to the City’s roads and public spaces. This hiring event focuses on filling these critical roles and features on-site interviews for the positions listed below:

 Highlighted positions & Requirements:

•       Senior Equipment Operator– Candidates must possess a Class a CDL.

•       Crew Leader – Candidates must possess a Class a CDL.

•       Maintenance Assistant

•       Experience in construction trades is highly preferred. Opportunities available for entry level and experienced applicants, depending on position.

 In addition to the City’s comprehensive benefits package, Public Works offers a CDL Step Program designed to support employee growth. The program provides participants a pathway to obtain or increase CDL proficiency resulting in a 15% salary increase over an 18 month period.
