International company begins 6th US operation at SCTAC

GREENVILLE, SC – June 20, 2011 – Cleanpart, one of the largest OEM independent semiconductor service providers in the US and Europe, has begun its’ 6th US operation at the South Carolina Technology & Aviation Center, Cleanpart Southeast.  Partnering with GVD Corporation, Cleanpart Southeast is able to offer their Upstate client base unique, turn-key services in submicron application industries.

“Upstate South Carolina is ideal for Cleanpart because it is a region where we can expand our core offerings and engineering services to multiple customers in the automotive, aerospace and other technical niches,” says Chad R. Brown, CEO of Cleanpart.  “SCTAC has offered us ample, affordable space in a manufacturing-rich location to allow us to build our business quickly and efficiently.”

Processing over 1 million high-technology parts per year, Cleanpart has 11 locations world-wide and specializes in surface treatments, precision cleaning and component manufacturing.  The company’s engineered treatments have been recognized for expanding machine life to improve performance and reduce manufacturing costs.

Growth is nothing new to the Cleanpart team.  For 40 years, Cleanpart has shown more than 13% year-on-year growth while never booking a financial loss.  In the last 5 years, Cleanpart has had rapid internal growth, has acquired key companies in the US and, internationally, has expanded into the medical, solar, energy, optical and medical fields.

“We pride ourselves by offering ‘best in breed’ technical and engineering services to our end users,” says Ken Clark, Cleanpart Southeast Account Manager and relocated employee to the SCTAC operation.

Plans to hire additional employees and expand the current location, which is subleased from GVD Corporation, will come as Cleanpart Southeast builds their new, Upstate client base.  GVD Corporation, which began operations at SCTAC in 2010, will serve as Cleanpart Southeast’s partner and first client.

“Cleanpart and GVD’s expansion to SCTAC shows the confidence these two companies have  in the Upstate as an ideal location for advanced technology industries,” says Jody Bryson, SCTAC President and CEO.  “This new expansion announcement further emphasizes the success SCTAC has had in recruiting high-growth companies to the facility.  With four sophisticated technology companies expanding here in the past year, SCTAC’s impact on the local and state economy continues to grow.”

“Cleanpart Southeast and GVD’s primary goal is to offer a streamlined service that adds value and convenience for our regional customers,” says Hilton Pryce Lewis, GVD President.  “Even though we will operate as independent companies, we believe there are many opportunities where we can offer unique solutions as partners. The combination of Cleanpart’s top-tier cleaning and surface preparation services and GVD’s cutting-edge coating solutions brings a tremendous competitive advantage to us, and to our customers.”

Cleanpart was awarded the “Above and Beyond” honor for their support of the United States National Guard and Reservists.  Cleanpart was also named the largest OEM independent engineering, cleaning and coating service provider in Europe and the US combined.

Cleanpart will be temporarily reassigning members from the Southbridge, Massachusetts facility until a local work force can be hired and trained.  For job or business inquiries with Cleanpart Southeast, please contact Ken Clark at [email protected].
