April 7, 2010

CLEMSON, SC – April 16, 2010 – The Clemson Renaissance Center will host a spring innovation roundtable from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Clemson at the Falls, 55 Camperdown Way, Greenville.

The topic of the roundtable is Business Performance: Establishing an Entrepreneurial Lead in the Southeast.

Greg Hillman, a member of the South Carolina Research Authority’s SC Launch initiative, will be the guest speaker. He has been responsible for program operations in South Carolina since 2007 and his professional experience includes management and operating roles in startups and in the Fortune 500.

SC Launch is a collaboration among the research authority, the state’s research universities and leaders in business and economic development. SC Launch supports the state’s knowledge economy by faciltating startups that leverage intellectual property from the research universities and encourages partnerships among the public and private sectors.

Through the Renaissance Center, Clemson University’s College of Business and Behavioral Science organizes speaker series and public events and provides outreach services to entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations throughout the Upstate of South Carolina.

The Renaissance Center hosts two innovation forums each year and two global issue briefings in the fall and in the spring. The events bring business and community leaders, faculty members and graduate students together for conversations and to provide a networking experience for students who can interact with local politicians, aspiring entrepreneurs and business leaders.

The cost of the event is $15 and attendees can register online at: http://www.northgatelabs.com/opay/index.asp?event=April-16-Innovation-Roundtable&amt=15&status=new&t=rencen.
