Clemson staff members win awards from education advancement council
February 25, 2015CLEMSON, SC – The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III recognized several members of the Clemson University Public Affairs Division at its annual conference in Orlando last week.
The winners were:
Media Relations
- Wanda Johnson: Grand Award, The Clemson University Social Media Listening Center: “We CU Chatter,” in the category of “Writing, Writing for the Media”;
- Award of Excellence, Clemson University Provost Search Communications and Marketing Campaign, in the category of “Overall Best Practice Awards, Best Practices in Communications and Marketing”; and
- Brian Mullen: Award of Excellence, Digital Storytelling Leads to National Media, in the category of “Programs and Projects, Media Relations Program.”
Marketing
- Susan Schiff and Jacob Barker: Special Merit Award, EMAGINE!, in the category of “Programs and Projects, External Relations Engagement Program.”
Creative Services
- Clemson World Magazine: Grand Award in the category of Print and Digital Publications, Special Merit Award, in the category of “Print and Digital Publications, Magazine/Tabloid Improvement III”;
- Clemson World: Grand Award in the category of “Electronic and Digital Media Magazine or Publication Rendering for Tablet or Mobile Technology”; and
- Clemson University Development Toolkit: Special Merit Award in the category of “Overall Best Practice Awards, Best Practices in Fundraising.”
“We’re proud to receive these awards from our peers, especially because they recognize the hard work that has resulted in record student applications, the No. 1 alumni network, a fundraising campaign that’s nearing its $1 billion goal and more successes,” said Neill Cameron, vice president for advancement.
“Winning awards is great, but winning and working is the Clemson way.”
Two staff members also were selected to make presentations at the conference: Kesha Williams presented “Best Practices for Campus-Wide Strategy and Collaboration in Digital Marketing” and Brian Mullen “Video Communication: Maximizing Stakeholder Engagement and Generating Media Attention.”
CASE focuses on supporting educational and professional institutions in the southeast by enhancing the effectiveness of the alumni relations, fundraising, communications, marketing and other advancement professionals who serve them.
