Clemson University Entrance Opens at Bon Secours Wellness Arena
April 16, 2015GREENVILLE, SC – The Bon Secours Wellness Arena and Clemson University officially opened the new Clemson University Entrance with a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 16. The Arena will be home to the Clemson Men’s Basketball Team during their 2015-2016 season as Clemson begins renovations on Littlejohn Coliseum. All Clemson graduation ceremonies taking place from August 2015 – August 2016 will also take place at the Arena during the renovation.
President Jim Clements and Vice President for Advancement Neill Cameron took part in the ceremony, along with Beth Paul, General Manager of the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, and David Sudduth, Mayor Pro Tem of Greenville. New signage on the Clemson University Entrance was revealed, along with Clemson University signage in the arena concourse.
As a nationally recognized Top 20 public university, the relationship will allow Clemson to further expand its footprint and expose its talent to a new audience of alumni and fans in Greenville. Season tickets for the men’s basketball team are on sale now and home games at the Arena include Boston College, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, Notre Dame, Pitt, South Carolina and Virginia.
“We are excited to incorporate the Clemson brand into the arena and to officially launch our new partnership with the University,” said Beth Paul, General Manager of the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. “This new relationship allows Clemson to expand its presence in downtown Greenville and the newly-renovated Arena will be a wonderful temporary home for the Tigers.”
“The collaboration with the Arena is one of several steps Clemson has taken in order to expand its footprint in Greenville and the surrounding areas,” said Neill Cameron, Vice President for Advancement at Clemson. “This partnership gives us the opportunity to expose a new audience to the Clemson experience as well as reconnect with area alumni, and we are grateful to have a new partner in the Arena.”
