Climb aboard for a Christmas adventure with the Spartanburg Youth Theatre Ken Ludwig’s ’Twas the Night Before Christmas Opens Dec. 4

November 24, 2015

SPARTANBURG, SC – This holiday season, Spartanburg Youth Theatre turns a classic holiday tale upside-down with Ken Ludwig’s zany ’Twas the Night Before Christmas, playing Dec. 4 and 5 at Chapman Cultural Center in downtown Spartanburg, SC.

It all starts when that pesky mouse stirs… and suddenly we’re off on a wild holiday adventure full of music, mishaps, and mayhem that will leave kids and parents alike grinning from ear to ear. After all, who could save Christmas but a mouse, an elf and a little girl?

“This holiday play is unlike any other I have seen — full of crazy, fun characters and plenty of twists and turns,” Director Adam Sanders said. “Yet, its themes will be familiar to all of us: friendship, magic, and a big helping of Christmas spirit.” The cast and crew are made up of local youth, many who are making their Spartanburg Youth Theatre debut.

SYT is sponsoring a toy drive during ’Twas the Night Before Christmas. Attendees should bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to a less fortunate child, and the cast of the show will deliver these gifts before Christmas.

’Twas the Night Before Christmas plays at Chapman Cultural Center Dec. 4 at 4:30 and 7 p.m. and Dec. 5 at 2 p.m.Tickets are $12 for adults and $9 for students, and can be purchased by phone at (864) 542-2787 or online at ChapmanCulturalCenter.org.
