Clinton Firefighter Honored as Michael “Mike Mike” Vinson Firefighter of the Year

The Clinton Fire Department has announced John Michael Lapomarda as the 2024 recipient of the Michael “Mike Mike” Vinson Award, recognizing him as Firefighter of the Year. This prestigious honor, awarded through a peer election process, highlights Lapomarda’s dedication, dependability, and commitment to both the Clinton Fire Department and the fire service at large.

Lapomarda, who joined the Clinton Fire Department in May of 2023, earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues, receiving the majority of votes in an anonymous internal poll. The award is named in memory of Michael “Mike Mike” Vinson, honoring his legacy of service. Lapomarda has also been serving as a volunteer with the Joanna Fire Department since March 2021.

Clinton Fire Chief Jeremy Marshall praised Lapomarda’s work ethic and dedication. “John Michael Lapomarda is a hard worker who takes pride in what he does. He consistently demonstrates ownership in the department and the image we present as a team. We are privileged to have him on our team,” said Chief Marshall.
