COBRA Changes Impact All Employers Providing Group Health Coverage
February 28, 2009COLUMBIA, SC –February 27, 2009 – New changes to COBRA will impact almost every employer. Nexsen Pruet’sEmployment and Labor Law Group responds by holding a special breakfast briefing on Friday, February 27th.
On February 17, President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. One key provision in the Stimulus Act provides certain assistance eligible individuals with Federal assistance in paying for COBRA continuation under an employer’s group medical coverage. Employers should act soon to comply with new notice requirements imposed by the Stimulus Act and protect against future medical claims liability.
