Coleman Elected to Serve as President for SCADA

COLUMBIA, SC – Gregg L. Coleman of George Coleman Ford, Inc. in Travelers Rest, has been elected President of the South Carolina Automobile Dealers Association (SCADA) for 2014-2015. Coleman was elected at SCADA’s Annual Dealer Meeting on May 30, and his term will officially begin July 1 and end on June 30, 2015.
Coleman has served on the SCADA Board of Directors for nine years and in that time has chaired the Legislative Committee, Budget and Finance Committee as well as the Safety and Public Relations Committee and is the current chair of the Advisory Committee. He is the Majority Owner of George Coleman Ford, Inc., which was established in 1930 by his grandfather George Coleman, Sr. The family legacy continues at George Coleman Ford, Inc. as Gregg’s son, Jake joined the Internet Department in June 2013. Today, George Coleman Ford, Inc. is an award winning Dealership and has received the prestigious Ford President’s Award for five years. Gregg resides in Travelers Rest with his wife Sally and has two children – Jake and Sarah and a daughter-in-law Kellie.
Other Officers also elected were First Vice President, George F. Gibbes of Gibbes Ford in Orangeburg and Treasurer, Jay Wakefield, of Wakefield Buick-GMC-Suzuki in Spartanburg.
Representing the Piedmont District, as Regional Vice President, is Chip Cooper, III of Cooper Motor Company in Clinton. Board Members elected to Director positions in the Piedmont District are Richard Kay of Richard Kay Automotive in Anderson, Jake Odum of Big O Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep-Ram of Greenville, Tracey Terrell of Quality Chrysler of Greenwood and Jim Firmin of Firmin Ford, Inc. in Laurens.

The South Carolina Automobile Dealers Association (SCADA) is the only statewide lobbying force in South Carolina dedicated to the economic and political interests of the owners of automobiles and the Dealers of new cars and trucks. SCADA represents new car and truck franchised Dealers across the state of South Carolina and advocates on behalf of its members in public policy, regulatory issues and economic development impacting the automotive industry. SCADA works to forge meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships between auto dealers and their local, state and federal representatives. SCADA also provides a wide range of publications, educational opportunities, networking and business improvement services to its Dealer members to help them excel in a dynamic and ultra-competitive business environment. SCADA started in 1937 and celebrated its 75th Anniversary in 2012.
