College of Charleston and Trident Tech partner for new direct admission program

July 28, 2025

This week, the College of Charleston and Trident Technical College (TTC) will enter a new partnership to expand the new direct admission program known as theĀ EPIC Scholars program.

Through the partnership, TTC students who complete an AAS degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Management will gain direct admission into the College of Charleston’s onlineĀ Bachelor of Professional Studies program.

This expedited pathway allows students to pursue a bachelor’s degree with many program prerequisites fulfilled through prior coursework and reduced overall tuition, significantly shortening the time and cost typically needed to complete the degree. Students in the EPIC Scholars program receive a 20% tuition discount, a financial grant and personalized advising and mentoring.

This partnership with Trident Technical College expands the College of Charleston’s EPIC Program, which is designed to strengthen workforce development across the state by offering flexible, accessible and expedited paths to a four-year degree.Ā The EPIC Scholars program allows residents to earn a professional studies degree from the College of Charleston while living and working anywhere in the state.

ā€œBy creating a clear path to the College of Charleston, we are helping more students reach their goals as we strengthen the state’s workforce,ā€ says Suzanne Austin, executive vice president of academic affairs and provost at the College of Charleston.

Trident Tech becomes the second S.C. technical college to partner with the College of Charleston on this statewide initiative.
