“I felt that my part in this deal came down to being highly attentive in listening to my client’s needs,” said Mary Winter Teaster, Senior Brokerage Associate for Colliers International.
The Chestnut Cottage, also known as 1718 Hampton Street, is an iconic property. The historic bed and breakfast, built in 1850, has five individual suites, a stately dining/living area and majestic staircase. The property once served as a home to General James and Mary Boykin Chestnut. While General James served as Brigadier General and as governor of South Carolina, his wife Mary achieved notoriety from her personal writings that provided extensive insights into the Civil War.
