Colliers lists unique hotel opportunity in partnership with Columbia Metropolitan Airport

October 10, 2024

Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) has selected Alia Bostaji of Colliers | South Carolina to list and market a hotel site on an approximately two-acre parcel on the airport’s campus in West Columbia, South Carolina. The airport will offer the land as a ground lease and will look for a developer to construct and operate the hotel.  Conceptual site plans are available, consisting of a four-story hotel with approximately 150 rooms.

Located in West Columbia on the corner of Airport Boulevard and Aviation Way, the site features approximately two acres for hotel development with direct access to the airport surface and garage parking as well as the breezeway. Guests can also enjoy easy access to main thoroughfares such as Platt Springs Road (±19,500 vehicles per day) and Airport Boulevard (±35,500 vehicles per day). The proximity to major highways and Columbia attractions, including the Riverbanks Zoo and Botanical Garden and the University of South Carolina, ensures a steady flow of potential guests.

“The primary goal of this hotel opportunity is to enhance the overall experience and services at CAE for the growing number of passengers,” said Bostaji. “The introduction of a hotel directly next to the airport is not only a response to the rising demand for high-quality accommodation but also a key component of the broader land development plan underway at CAE. Colliers is looking for a hospitality developer who will offer a range of amenities for travelers, including a fitness center, meeting rooms and a rooftop bar and restaurant that provides stunning views of the airfield, making it an attractive and functional addition to the airport’s infrastructure.”

“This hotel will significantly ease the travel experience, particularly for those with early-morning or late-night flights,” said Mike Gula, the President and CEO at CAE. “Travelers can arrive the night before, enjoy a comfortable stay, and conveniently walk directly from the hotel into the terminal in the morning.”
