Colonial Life Contributes $10,000 to Governor’s School Summer Camp Program

COLUMBIA, SC – July 12, 2012 – Colonial Life & Accident InsuranceCompany has donated $10,000 to support the GoSciTech summer campprogram offered by the South Carolina’s Governor’s School for Science& Mathematics.
The grant was used to supportthe popular summer residential program that attracts some of the state’sbest and brightest talent. The GoSciTech camp brings togetheracademically gifted students from throughout the Palmetto State forweeklong sessions on a variety of unique topics related to science andtechnology.
Kara Addy, assistant vice presidentfor Branding and Communications at Colonial Life, says the school’ssummer science and technology camp aligns with the priorities of thecompany’s corporate social responsibility program.
“Colonial Life enjoys investing in programs likethese that enhance education and strengthen our ability to recruit,retain and develop a talented workforce,” she says. The company grantedmore than $700,000 to nonprofit organizations, including the SouthCarolina Governor’s School, in 2011 as part of its charitable givingefforts.
