Colonial Life names four to leadership roles
August 6, 2014COLUMBIA, SC – Colonial Life has named four individuals leadership roles on its Columbia campus.
Gavin Dean has joined the growth markets team as assistant vice president. He will partner with key business leaders to set strategic direction in the company’s targeted growth segments. Dean holds a master’s of international business administration degree from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and a bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University. He previously served as product manager and implementation manager
Katie Dreiling has been named assistant vice president of broker market services. Previously the regional broker market manager for the Southeast, she will now be responsible for developing and implementing Colonial Life broker alliances and programs strategy nationally.
Rob Quell has been named director of distribution development at Colonial Life. He is responsible for using market engagement, research and analysis to identify opportunities to enhance the company’s distribution system and effectiveness in target markets. Quell is a recent graduate of Unum’s Professional Development Program, where he served rotations as IT project portfolio manager in Portland, Maine; financial underwriter in Dorking, United Kingdom; and long-term disability benefit and management specialist in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Shawn Hartsell has been named director of Colonial Life’s contact center team. He will be responsible for oversight of the more than 1.2 million inquiries the Columbia-based team receives each year. Hartsell, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who joined the company in December, brought with him eight years of management experience, primarily in the security field.
