Columbia Attorney Michael C. Greene Appointed to South Carolina Panel for Dietetics

COLUMBIA, SC – Gignilliat, Savitz & Bettis, LLP, is pleased to announce that Michael C. Greene has been appointed to the South Carolina Panel for Dietetics. Greene fills the general public seat for the panel, one of seven seats on the state-wide board. The mission of the Panel is to protect the health and safety of the public by regulating dietetic practice in South Carolina.
By filling the general public seat, Greene represents citizens of South Carolina in matters regarding regulations and licensing for dieticians. “This position is a great opportunity to serve my fellow South Carolinians,” said Greene. “With health concerns being a primary focus for many in the nation, I’m grateful for the chance to support the health of our state’s citizens, as well as make South Carolina a better place to live.” Greene’s term runs through May 30, 2015.
Greene has been an associate attorney with Gignilliat, Savitz & Bettis since September 2011. His practice focuses on representing management in employment and labor law matters, ranging from the Fair Labor Standards Act to discrimination. Greene serves large and small clients in both state and federal court, as well as before administrative bodies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission and the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs.
In addition to his seat on the South Carolina Panel for Dietetics, Greene is a board member for Communities in Schools of the Midlands, serves on the logistics committee for the American Heart Association Heart Walk in Columbia and is an active member of the South Carolina Bar. He is a 2007 graduate of Wofford College and a 2011 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law.
