Columbia Chamber announces honorees for 2022 Columbia Impact Awards

Nine Recognized for Outstanding Achievements During 8th Annual Columbia Impact Awards

The Columbia Chamber announced the recipients of the annual Columbia Impact Awards. The 2022 Columbia Impact Awards, presented by Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A., was held virtually via individual announcements from April – June 2022.

“The Columbia Chamber is proud to recognize the outstanding organizations and individuals who have worked to make Columbia a better place to live, work, and play,” said Carl Blackstone, Columbia Chamber President and CEO. “The 2022 Columbia Impact Awards showcased each winner in a new, more accessible way, allowing all to join in the celebration of these extraordinary talents.”

The Columbia Chamber recognized the following:

The Cathy Novinger Trailblazer Award honors an individual who has shown exemplary leadership in his/her industry, advocates for business, and positively impacts our community. The 2022 recipient is Dr. Roslyn Clark Artis.

The Small Business of the Year Award recognizes a Chamber Partner who has shown great growth, significant achievements, or realized economic and cultural growth that benefits the business community. The 2022 recipient is Modern Exterminating.

The Diversity & Inclusion Award celebrates a Partner that goes above and beyond to create a diverse work environment by breaking the glass ceiling. The 2022 recipient is Camp Cole.

The Columbia Chamber also introduced two new awards this year:

The Hospitality Industry Award celebrates those who help make Columbia a world-class place to live, work, and visit by recognizing Partners in the hospitality industry – from restaurants and tourist attractions, to transportation companies, hotels, and event facilities. The 2022 recipient is Hotel Trundle.

The Workforce Development Award honors Partners that are working to create innovative workforce development strategies in an effort to retain a dynamic, resilient, and highly skilled workforce equipped for meeting current industry needs within the greater Midlands region. The 2022 recipient is Midlands Technical College.

The Golden Nail Award is bestowed upon businesses or property owners for exemplary contributions to the physical character of the greater Midlands region through cosmetic or commercial means such as restoration of a façade, historic building, or re-purposing of a blighted space during the previous calendar year. 2022 recipients include: Hood Construction, Smoked, Midas of Gervais, and Lucas Group Properties.
