Columbia College earns major gains in U.S. News & World Report 2026 Best Online Programs rankings
January 29, 2026Columbia College has earned significant recognition in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Online Programs rankings, highlighted by a 28-spot rise in the Best Online Bachelor’s Programs category and multiple rankings for veteran-focused programs.
The College moved from No. 84 to No. 56 (tied) among 348 institutions in the nation for Best Online Bachelor’s Programs, marking one of the most notable advancements in its online academic portfolio to date. Columbia College also improved in two veteran-specific rankings, reflecting continued growth in access, quality, and student support for military-affiliated learners.
“These rankings reflect the intentional work our faculty and staff are doing every day to expand opportunity and strengthen academic quality,” said Dr. John H. Dozier, President of Columbia College. “Our online programs are designed to meet students where they are, whether they are working professionals, adult learners, or members of the military community. We are proud to see that commitment recognized at the national level.”
2026 U.S. News Best Online Programs Rankings for Columbia College:
- Best Online Bachelor’s Programs: No. 56 (tied), up 28 spots from No. 84 among 348 institutions
- Best Online Bachelor’s in Business Programs: No. 191 (tied), stable among 254 institutions
- Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans: No. 35, ranked among 107 institutions
- Best Online Master’s in Criminal Justice: No. 51 (tied), stable among 99 institutions
- Best Online Master’s in Education: No. 157 (tied), up one spot among 323 institutions
- Best Online Master’s in Education for Veterans: No. 46 (tied), ranked among 49 institutions
U.S. News & World Report evaluates online programs based on factors such as student engagement, faculty credentials, student services and technology, peer reputation, and outcomes, including graduation rates and student success indicators. The rankings are designed to help prospective students identify high-quality online learning opportunities nationwide.
