Columbia College launches 2+2 Program in Respiratory Care

Columbia College has received approval to offer a degree in Respiratory Care. The curriculum aligns with National Board of Respiratory Care and the American Association for Respiratory Care for Baccalaureate Education for Professional Respiratory Care practice. Students who have satisfactorily completed level one Respiratory Care and general education courses, have an earned Associates Degree in Respiratory Care will be able to apply for admission to Columbia College’s program, advancing to upper level status.
Respiratory Care majors enjoy much flexibility in opportunities for occupational niches. Focused opportunities include hospitals, physicians’ offices, home healthcare services, and more.

The CDC estimates more than 15 million people with chronic pulmonary disease, a vast target audience for treatment by Respiratory Therapists. The program at Columbia College requires a total of 120 credit hours including 30 hours of upper level core Respiratory Care courses. Students will be able to complete the program in as little as one year.
