Columbia Food and Wine Festival Planning Committee Releases 2019 Festival Details and Tickets

The Columbia Food and Wine Festival Planning Committee have launched 2019 festival ticket sales, along with details on the newly added satellite events.   After a sold-out inaugural year that featured 42 Midlands restaurants serving 15,000 small bites, 48 wines, 14 breweries, and 10 chef and beverage demonstrations, the Columbia Food and Wine Festival (CFWF) will return for an even larger, multi-day celebration with seven satellite events on April 26 and 27, 2019, in addition to the main festival on April 28, 2019.  Tickets are currently available online for the main and satellite events at ColumbiaFoodandWineFestival.com.

Friday, April 26, 2019:

Kick-Off Dinner
Saluda’s Restaurant (751 Saluda Avenue)  ·  7pm  ·  $95 per person

Share a toast with festival organizers, sponsors and weekend-long festivalgoers as we kick off the Columbia Food and Wine Festival at Saluda’s Restaurant on Friday, April 26.  Attendees will enjoy a five-course dinner prepared by Saluda’s Executive Chef Josh Rogerson and a team of other local chefs all of whom will collaborate to ensure this dinner is one you won’t forget.  

Saturday, April 27, 2019:

International Food Corridor
Soda City Market (1300 – 1500 blocks of Main Street)  ·  9am ·  Free 

Join more than 4,000 residents and visitors on Columbia’s Main Street for an expanded Soda City Market and taste authentic international delights from appetizers to entrees to pastries.  Experience our city’s diverse food scene with more than 10 local Columbia food vendors; all of whom provide a variety of culturally diverse cuisines.  Maps will be provided to attendees and participating partners will be noted with designated CFWF signage.   

Brunch at BullStreet
First Base Building Rooftop (2142 Boyce Street)  · 11am  ·  $60 per person

Start your Saturday with a multi-course brunch with cocktail to course pairings at the urban rooftop of the First Base Building overlooking Segra Park.  Enjoy hand-crafted cocktails and bottomless mimosas provided by head bartender of The War Mouth, Spencer Robinson, along with a brunch spread by BullStreet resident chef and owner, Scott Hall of Bone-In BBQ, and Cantina 76 executive chef, Chef David Grillo.

Brews and Views: Rooftop Craft Beer Collaboration
River Rat Brewery (1231 Shop Road)   · 2pm  ·  $40 per person

Stop by River Rat Brewery’s rooftop bar for a craft beer collaboration featuring four of Columbia’s local breweries.  Expand your craft beer appreciation by tasting standard brews offered in these breweries as well as specialty brews crafted uniquely for the Columbia Food and Wine Festival weekend. 

Sips and a Seminar in The Pastor’s Study
Lula Drake Wine Parlour (1635 Main Street)  ·  4pm  ·  $85 per person

Join Main Street’s boutique wine parlour for an educational wine tasting session in their private event space, The Pastor’s Study.  Lula Drake owner and sommelier, Tim Gardner, will offer a series of rare wine tastings not available on Lula Drake’s wine list.  Tim will provide insights on each wine and their respective wineries and light hors d’oeuvres are included.

Heirloom Breeds + Seeds Dinner
Seibels House (1601 Richland Street)  ·  6:30pm  ·  $150 per person

Experience the collaboration of two popular Columbia restaurants — Motor Supply Co. Bistro and Spotted Salamander Café & Catering – as they team up on a thoughtfully curated four-course meal, highlighting heirloom and sustainable ingredients.  Soak in the history and charm of downtown Columbia during this dining experience hosted at the Seibels House and Garden, owned and operated by Historic Columbia. Beginning inside the Seibels House at 6:30pm, Motor Supply Head Barman Josh Streetman will delight guests with a house-made cocktail, along with passed hors d’oeuvres.  After cocktails, guests will move to the outdoor garden space for a dinner created, plated, and served by chefs Wes Fulmer of Motor Supply and Jessica Shillato of Spotted Salamander. Wine pairings are provided for each course and guests will enjoy live acoustic music.

Sunday, April 28, 2019:

Columbia Food and Wine Festival: Main Event
Saluda Avenue in Five Points  ·  7pm  ·  $65 – $100 per person

The main event for the 2019 Columbia Food & Wine Festival will be on Sunday, April 28, 2019 on Saluda Avenue in Columbia’s Five Points village.  The ticketed event will feature tastings from over 40 local restaurants, a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, local artisans, farmers, musicians and more.  The following ticket options are available online now:

VIP:   $100 (advanced ticket sales only)  //  Noon – 4pmVIP ticket holders can enjoy the full benefits of General Admission and Sneak Peek, but with the added perks of a comfortable, private VIP experience at Saluda’s (751 Saluda Avenue). Throughout the event, VIPs may retreat to Saluda’s to sample additional food and cocktail offerings, as well as enjoy their local art display and the use of their private balcony, overlooking the event’s footprint on Saluda Avenue.  
SNEAK PEEK:   $85 (advanced ticket sales only)  //  Noon – 4pm 
Sneak Peek ticket holders get all the perks of general admission, but with an extra private hour at the beginning of the day.  These attendees can arrive at noon – an hour before general admission starts and will have exclusive access to the first bites of the day.

GENERAL ADMISSION:   $65 (in advance)  /  $75(at the gate)  //  1pm – 4pm 
General admission ticket holders can sample over 40 restaurants while sipping on a variety of wines, craft beers, and specialty cocktails.  Attendees can also submerge themselves in Columbia’s culture and learn more about its food scene by attending a variety of live chef and wine demonstrations, engaging with local farmers, artisans and artists.

  • Friday, April 26, 2019  / Official Kick-Off Dinner:
    The start of the 2019 CFWF will begin with the Official Kick-Off Dinner at Saluda’s Restaurant on Friday, April 26, 2019.  A city-wide collaboration, this intimate dinner will be led by Saluda’s Restaurant Executive Chef, Josh Rogerson, and will feature five courses,hors d’oeuvres and cocktails by varying chefs from across the community.  Tickets will be limited and will become available online in the coming weeks.

  • Saturday, April 27, 2019  / Heirloom Breeds + Seeds:
    A collaboration between Motor Supply Co. Bistro, Spotted Salamander Cafe & Catering and Historic Columbia, “Heirloom Breeds + Seeds” will be a celebration dinner hosted at the historic Seibels House on April 27, 2019.  This ticketed event will feature live music, a multi-course meal highlighting heirloom and sustainable ingredients by Motor Supply Executive Chef Wes Fulmer and Spotted Salamander Owner/Executive Chef Jessica Shillato with cocktails by Motor Supply Head Barman Josh Streetman in the garden. Tickets will be limited and will become available in the coming weeks.
