Columbia Metropolitan Airport expands its arts program

December 19, 2017

Columbia Metropolitan Airport has expanded its Airports Arts Program to include music. A piano is now available near the departure gates for scheduled performances and it is available for our travelers who would like to share their musical talents.

The piano is also a work of art and reflects the amazing artistic talent of local Artist and Contemporary Painter, Alicia Leeke. A native South Carolinian, Alicia started her artistic studies under Steven Nevitt at Columbia College. During her sophomore year, she vacationed in Paris and visited the Louvre, where she fell in love with the French Impressionists. More recently, she has been inspired by photographers Susan Kae Grant of Texas and John E. Powell of Columbia, South Carolina to produce a body of work combining conceptual art, photography and digital mixed media.
