Columbia Metropolitan CVB Unveils New Commercial during National Travel and Tourism Week
May 7, 2014COLUMBIA, SC – May 7, 2014 – Columbia Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is excited to announce the kickoff of their new television commercial and integrated visual marketing campaign entitled, “Let Me Take You There.”
“Our commercial is fun, lively, always changing and jammed pack with an energy that will most certainly aid in attracting visitors to the region,” said Bill Ellen, president and CEO of Midlands Authority for Conventions, Sports and Tourism (MACST), the governing arm over Columbia Metropolitan CVB. “To remain consistent with our current marketing campaign and overall branding, we focused on the area’s popular hot spots, but to take it to the next level we introduced our city’s growing cultural trends and diversity – which proved impactful.”
Currently airing across the Southeast, the commercial highlights many of the regions offerings with energetic photography of various events, festivals, kid-friendly activities, outdoor adventures, music, art, culture and historical elements. The previous television commercial Columbia Metropolitan CVB created was produced five years ago.
“Promoting this commercial during National Travel and Tourism Week further amplifies our message that travel and tourism is not only beneficial to our region, but has great significance and is very necessary,” said Kelly Barbrey, vice president of sales and marketing for MACST. “We look forward to utilizing our new commercial and photo library in our marketing and advertising initiatives outside of the area to draw tourists to the capital region. We also hope these tools enable our local residents to share their love of Columbia, SC with friends and family.”
To create the television commercial, Columbia Metropolitan CVB worked alongside a group of talented local professionals. Led by advertising agency, Post No Bills, the collaborative effort included photography by Sean Rayford and Brett Flashnick, videography and editing by Dust of the Ground, and music by critically acclaimed local songstress, Danielle Howle. Howle, along with Post No Bills, wrote and produced an original song entitled, “Let Me Take You There.” This upbeat single encompasses the creative energy of our capital city.
“There is so much to see, do and experience throughout the Columbia, SC region,” said Ellen. “And we feel this locally developed piece highlights that wonderfully.”
