Columbia Museum of Art’s Contemporaries invite you to step “Through the Looking Glass”

Prepare to have your perceptions challenged and your imagination ignited! The Contemporaries, an affinity council of the Columbia Museum of Art (CMA), announced their highly anticipated annual gala, “Through the Looking Glass: A Surrealist Affair,” taking place on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, at the Museum.

This year, guests are invited to leave the ordinary behind and embark on a whimsical journey into a world where time bends, art comes alive, and the unexpected awaits at every turn. Inspired by the captivating world of surrealism, “Through the Looking Glass” promises an evening of dreamlike wonder, illogical delights, and artistic exploration.

“We wanted to create an immersive experience that transports our guests to a realm where anything is possible,” says Will Roberts, board chair of the Contemporaries. “This gala is a celebration of art, imagination, and community, and we’re excited to share this extraordinary experience with Columbia.”

Guests can expect:

• Illogical Libations: Indulge in mind-bending cocktails crafted by local mixologists at two surrealist-themed bars: The Dalí and The Magritte.
• Whimsical Culinary Creations: Delight your taste buds with culinary wonders designed to tantalize and surprise, courtesy of our friends Southern Way.
• Timeless Tunes: Dance the night away to the enchanting sounds of the BMuzik Band and DJ Liv, who will keep the dreamlike atmosphere alive.
