Columbia Resident Wins LiveLifeBlue Contest with ‘Shoefie’ Photo at Half Dome
May 18, 2015COLUMBIA, SC – BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina selected David Johnston, Columbia, as the winner of its Facebook-based LiveLifeBlueSM healthy activity photo competition in April.
The theme was “Show Us Your Shoefie.” Johnston won for a photo showing his hiking boots after reaching the top of Half Dome at Yosemite National Park in California. He spent more than a year preparing for the trip and it took two days to hike to the location where he took the winning photo. The prize was a new Fitbit Charge™, courtesy of BlueCross.
“We congratulate David for working toward a healthy lifestyle and sharing that in our LiveLifeBlueSM competition. All of the entries are an inspiration for everyone to get moving, eat right and enjoy an active life,” said Matt Shaffer, BlueCross’ senior vice president, Major Group division.
The contest continues through the end of the year with a different wellness activity featured each quarter. It is open to any South Carolina resident, age 18 or older. Entrants do not have to be BlueCross members. Winners are selected at random.
There are three ways to submit: upload to the entrant’s personal Facebook, Twitter or Instagram account using #livelifebluesc, upload directly to the LiveLifeBlue contest on Facebook, or email to [email protected].
