Columbia Young Professionals Alliance Announces Second Annual Holiday Party
November 28, 2007Columbia, South Carolina – November 29, 2007 – The Columbia Young Professionals Alliance, a group of nine of Columbia’s leading membership organizations collaborating to produce groundbreaking social and sporting events for the city, will host its Second Annual Holiday Party Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at the Columbia Museum of Art beginning at 6 p.m.
Admission is an unwrapped toy or a $10 donation to Toys for Tots and includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, a host bar and entertainment provided by Bandkamp.
Members of the Young Professionals Alliance organizations and non-members are welcome to attend this second annual event. No reservations are required.

The Young Professionals Alliance is an unprecedented spirit of collaboration among our diverse membership organizations, not just in the Midlands, but among cities around the country, says Keely Saye, chair of Columbia Opportunity Resource, the leader organization of the holiday party.
We are stimulating a foundation for relationship building and social interaction among Columbia’s ‘Creative Class.’
Ryan Hyler, chair of the Columbia Museum of Art Contemporaries says, We’re pleased to be the host organization of this second-time event and expect 400-plus attendees. The Alliance gives the Contemporaries, and all the organizations participating, an opportunity to raise awareness about our mission and impact change in Columbia by getting young leaders involved.
The Young Professionals Alliance 2007 Holiday Party sponsors include ACE Glass, Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc., Carolina Alumni Association Young Alumni Council, Hallmark Homes International and The Field House.
All admission fees and proceeds will benefit Toys for Tots.
ABOUT COLUMBIA YOUNG PROFESSIONALS ALLIANCE (YPA) Established in 2006, the Columbia YPA consists of nine diverse organizations, whose representatives meet quarterly to collaborate, share ideas and support one another. Focusing on social events, the alliance is producing an annual holiday party, with plans to expand its event calendar in 2008. The mission of the Alliance is to provide a forum for Columbia’s young professionals to learn about the organizations in which they can become involved and ultimately impact change in our city and community.
