Columbia’s Gingerbread House Competition returns—free family event supports local families

The sweetest tradition in the Midlands returns this holiday season!
The 3rd Annual SC Gingerbread House Competition, hosted by Davis Architecture at AIA Columbia (1530 Main Street, Columbia, SC), invites families, artists, bakers, schools, and professionals to showcase their creativity while supporting an important cause. This free, family-friendly event raises funds for Home Works of America, helping provide critical home repairs for elderly, disabled, and vulnerable neighbors across South Carolina.
Guests can explore whimsical, imaginative gingerbread houses—ranging from classic cottages to elaborate edible masterpieces—while enjoying festive music, holiday cheer, and community spirit. Visitors will also have the chance to vote for their favorite creation in the People’s Choice Award, adding interactive fun for all ages.

Thursday, Dec. 4 | 6:00 – 9:00 PM – Kickoff during First Thursday on Main with live music by Richard Hurteau & first public viewing and voting
