Community Concert Choir to perform spring concert

The Community Concert Choir, now in its second year, has been spreading joy around town singing at the Pinedale Residence, Morningside of Camden and the Karesh Long Term Care Center this year. The Choir will present their final Spring Concert on Sunday afternoon, June 3 at 4:00 pm at the Bethesda Presbyterian Church, located at 502 DeKalb Street in Camden. Their program will include a set of patriotic numbers, a set of time-honored sacred numbers, a Hoagy Carmichael set and a set of favorite show tunes from such blockbuster shows asOklahoma, The Wizard of Oz and The Roar of the Greasepaint, The Smell of the Crowd. They will wrap up the concert with some crowd-pleasing numbers from George Gershwin and Duke Ellington. The Community Choir is comprised of local residents with a love of singing and is directed by Bo Dickinson, director of music at Bethesda Church and graduate of the prestigious Westminster Choir College. The Community Choir is sponsored by the Kershaw County Music Association, an affiliate of the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County.
