Community event celebrates abilities of those with Down Syndrome – October 21
October 19, 2018Family Connection of South Carolina will host its 19th Annual Columbia Buddy Walk from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, October 21 at Saluda Shoals Park during National Down Syndrome Awareness Month.
This is a day to celebrate the abilities of those with Down syndrome, promoting acceptance and inclusion. As more people are introduced to and interact with individuals with Down syndrome, barriers fall, prejudices diminish and doors open. Last year, more than 1,800 people gathered to support 85 special buddies with Down’s syndrome.
Family Connection knows that ALL individuals with disabilities and those who support them ARE truly Rock Stars, every single day.
