November 5, 2025

Record 45+ Business Compete in the 4th Annual Scarecrow Stroll on Main Competition

The Town of Lexington and the Lexington Chamber & Visitors Center celebrated the winners of the Fourth Annual Scarecrow Stroll on Main at a Chamber breakfast on November 4, 2025. Throughout October, more than 45 local businesses transformed downtown Main Street into a whimsical autumn gallery of creative, family-friendly scarecrow designs. The event, which ran from October 13 to October 30, captivated residents and visitors providing lasting family memories.

“The annual initiative drew thousands to the downtown area for a free, self-guided tour of the unique displays, celebrating local business creativity and the spirit of the Fall season,” said Mayor Hazel Livingston.

According to Chamber President & CEO Angelle LaBorde, “This year’s Scarecrow Stroll was our most successful yet, underscoring the collaborative relationship between our local government and the business community. Businesses and organizations signed up early to participate, providing a record 47 scarecrows.” She continued, “Each year, our businesses raise the bar with their ingenuity and dedication to making downtown Lexington a truly special place and we are grateful for the time and effort they invested.”

Voting for the popular People’s Choice Award attracts high community enthusiasm and was conducted online on the Town’s Facebook page, garnering over 550 votes. The winner was “The Pumpkin King of Prevention,” created by the Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher’s office.
