Converse College Announces New Director of Alumnae/i Relations
July 28, 2014SPARTANBURG, SC – Converse College announced that alumna Amy Tibbals Morales ’86 has joined the Institutional Advancement team as Director of Alumnae/i Relations. Amy will serve as the primary link between the College and the Alumnae/i Association, and will have the overall responsibility of keeping alumnae/i informed and involved in the life of Converse through special events and career and professional networking.
“As the most recent President of the Converse Alumnae Association and a passionate advocate for Converse for over 15 years, Amy brings both her expertise in the world of education along with well established institutional relationships to our team” said Bobby Stewart, Vice President for Institutional Advancement. “Amy will work very closely with former Alumnae Director, Carrie Hill Coleman ’96, who has moved into the role of Alumnae and Donor Communications Manager, to ensure a swift and smooth transition. We are thrilled that Amy has agreed to serve Converse in this important capacity and we look forward to welcoming her to the team in August.”
Amy is currently the President of Innovations Learning, LLC, in Jacksonville, FL and has extensive experience as a speaker, classroom teacher, administrator, and curriculum development specialist. She received her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Converse and an M.A.T. from Jacksonville University.
“I am beyond ecstatic about serving Converse College as the Director of Alumnae/i. Through my years of service both on the Alumnae Board and the Board of Trustees, I continue to be amazed at the breadth of expertise and accomplishments our graduates have achieved” states Morales. “My primary goal will be to focus on creating connections that are mutually beneficial for our alumnae/i and for the college, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I see my role as being pivotal in facilitating a new paradigm and dialogue among the members of our alumnae/i community, and I look forward to navigating this new chapter in the history of our alma mater.”
Amy will continue to base herself out of Jacksonville, FL where she lives with her husband Rick, an alumnus of Wofford College, and their two children, Ry, 16, and Marlo, 15.
