Councilwoman Joyce Dickerson to Host Dirt Road Paving Meeting in Upper Richland
February 18, 2015COLUMBIA, SC – Residents in Upper Richland County will have the opportunity to learn about Richland County’s newly launched program to pave dirt roads at a community meeting this month.
The Dirt Road Paving Program meeting will be 6:00 PM-7:30 PM Thursday, Feb. 19 at Upper Richland Community Center, 280 Campground Road, Columbia, SC 29203.
“The Dirt Road Paving Program is a clear example of how property owners are benefitting from the Transportation Penny Program.” says Joyce Dickerson, Councilwoman for Richland County Council District 2. “I encourage my constituents to come out to the meeting and find out about this important roadway improvement program.”
This meeting will focus on dirt road paving projects planned in Richland County Council District 2, represented by Councilwoman Dickerson. The meeting is open to the general public, but residents and property owners in Northeast Richland, Blythewood, Cedar Creek and St. Andrews are especially encouraged to attend.
The meeting will include a question-and-answer session with Richland County staff and the Dirt Road Paving Management Team, led by the Dennis Corporation; a Richland County based Engineering and Construction Management firm.
The Dirt Road Paving Program is funded through the Richland County penny sales tax.
