Countdown begins: What to expect for 803 Day
July 30, 2024Local Entertainment Announcement, Nonprofit Recognition, $8.03 specials
803 Day is officially five days away! Over 350 have registered to participate in the festivities so far, with registration still open. This exciting day promises to unite our community in a day of joy, pride, and camaraderie as we come together to explore the city, enjoy live entertainment, and patronize local businesses.
Give Back on 803 Day
Bring your back-to-school supplies to donate to children in need with the JoO Foundation, a local 501c3 that has numerous annual community giveaway events for youth and families in need. Donation bins will be available at the 5K Run/Walk and at the Festival. Monetary donations are also accepted via $JOOFoundation via CashApp and [email protected] via PayPal. “Since 2018 we have been serving Richland and Lexington counties by hosting clothing and food drives, Thanksgiving giveaways, and free summer lunch programs for youth, said Timothy Owens, founder, JoO Foundation. “We are thrilled to partner with the inaugural 803 Day celebration to support more families in the area. By collecting back-to-school supplies, we aim to ensure that every child starts the school year with the tools they need to succeed. This collaboration exemplifies the community spirit of 803 Day and highlights the positive impact we can make when we come together.”
Another local nonprofit that will participate in 803 Day is the Cola Rosé Shower. The Cola Rosé Shower is a 501c3 that elevates women while raising awareness about women’s healthcare in the Midlands. A portion of each 803 Day 5K Run/Walk registration will benefit this initiative. Registration is still available HERE. “We are honored to be a beneficiary of the 803 Day Run/Walk,” said Deonna Wylie, founder, Cola Rosé Shower. “This generous support will help us raise awareness about women’s health and underscores the importance of community involvement in addressing critical health concerns. This is truly a journey of unity; one that we can do together.”
