Countybank welcomes new hire to commercial team

Tony Lawton joins Countybank as Commercial Relationship Manager

Countybank welcomed Tony Lawton as Commercial Relationship Manager in the Upstate area. Lawton comes to Countybank with more than 30 years of experience in commercial lending across the Upstate and along the South Carolina coast.

Lawton holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Newberry College and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at LSU. His most recent position was with First Citizens Bank in Laurens as Senior Commercial Lender where he managed commercial loans in the Laurens, Newberry, and Edgefield markets. Previously he served as Market President for Capital Bank.

As Commercial Relationship Manager, Lawton is responsible for exploring new market opportunities in Laurens County, Newberry County, and southern Greenville. Lawton is also responsible for partial management of Countybank’s commercial portfolio in Greenwood.
