County of Lexington to hold a community meeting regarding CDBG-DR funding for flood relief

July 27, 2016

The County of Lexington Department of Community Development will host a community meeting to present information regarding the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program, and the County’s ongoing flood recovery efforts.

The CDBG-DR Program was developed by the Federal government to assist in disaster recovery efforts, such as the ongoing efforts within Lexington County following the 2015 October rain event. The program is aimed to address the unmet needs of low- to middle-income residents.

Lexington County residents in the Irmo and St. Andrews areas, especially those that suffered from flood-related damages in the Challedon, Pineglen, Coldstream and Whitehall neighborhoods, are encouraged to attend this meeting so they can learn more about disaster recovery relief efforts.

The meeting is scheduled as follows:

Date: July 28, 2016
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Seven Oaks Park
200 Leisure Lane
Columbia, SC 29210

County of Lexington Community Development Department staff will be on hand to answer residents’ questions following the presentations.
