Courthouse Coffee Celebrates Recent Opening with Ribbon Cutting
September 21, 2022With the announcement of the closing of the Coffee Roost in April the coffee scene in downtown Laurens was abruptly put on hold.
But not for long.
Within a few weeks something new was brewing and thanks to entrepreneurs Wes Meetz and Leigh Anne Martaranglo, Courthouse Coffee is open on the public square in Laurens. Since opening in early summer, Courthouse Coffee’s delicious drinks and fresh pastries have quickly become a local favorite. Click HERE to learn more about this business. Meetz and Martaranglo are also co-owners of Palmetto Brothers Dispensary, a craft beer and wine bar, also located on the public square in Laurens.
Last Friday the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce was joined by Main Street Laurens Director, Jonathan Irick, County Council Chair, Brown Patterson, and many community supporters and customers for celebratory ribbon cutting.
“We know the importance of a local coffee shop to the life of our community. It is a place where neighbors can gather every morning, a place where our youth can hang out, a place where business can be done, and a place which is often the first stop for visitors to our city,” said Mayor Nathan Senn. “For these and many other reasons, we are grateful for the contributions of Peg and Marty Cwiakala and the Coffee Roost, and we are so excited for the future of Courthouse Coffee. We wish them all success for many years to come!”
Courthouse Coffee has become the location of choice in downtown Laurens for a great cup of coffee, small group meetings and even a few baby showers. If you haven’t already been, stop by and check it out.
