Crave Joins Certified SC Grown’s “Fresh on the Menu” Program

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC – Crave Kitchen & Cocktails is now part of the Certified SC Grown’s Fresh on the Menu program, meaning that the restaurant offers at least 25% Certified South Carolina Grown foods and products on its menu.
“It’s our mission to serve seasonal, sustainable, local food as often as possible for our guests,” said Peter Woodman, owner of Crave Kitchen & Cocktails. “Our kitchen staff is passionate about creating seasonal specials which, to them, means working with what nature has to offer from the Lowcountry to create only the highest quality dishes.”
The Fresh on the Menu program was established as a way for restaurants throughout South Carolina to come together in support of local growers and producers. It also allows these establishments to celebrate the fresh taste of local produce. From the team’s weekly trips to the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market to scouting the docks of Shem Creek for fresh seafood, Crave is doing just that.
Guests will find seasonal items from a variety of local farms on Crave’s menu, currently including: strawberries, kale and Swiss chard from Boone Hall Farms in Mount Pleasant; broccoli and asparagus from Rest Park Farms in Beaufort; bok choy and spring onions from Hickory Bluff Farms in Holly Hill; and a variety of radishes from Wabi Sabi Farms in Cordesville.
