CSD leases remaining space at Innovation Center office building
June 20, 2018Holder Properties, a leading real estate development company, announced the addition of Communication Service for the Deaf (CSD) to Innovation Center, located in the Innovation research district in Downtown Columbia at 550 Assembly Street. Represented by NAI Avant broker Peyton Bryant, CSD will lease the remaining space in the $25 million building that opened in 2016.
CSD is the largest Deaf-led nonprofit in the world. Through its suite of innovative programs and services, CSD uses Deaf-centered design to develop solutions to societal, communication, and employment barriers for Deaf people. The Innovation Center will become home to CSD’s newest contact center, providing captioned telephone service. CSD will be hiring over 200 captioning assistants.
The Innovation Center is a ±110,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility located on the University of South Carolina’s campus. Joining IBM, Electric Guard Dog and the University, CSD will occupy the 4th floor. The Center allows the University, IBM, and private sector researchers to use technology for a host of real-world applications. Innovation Center was developed by Holder Properties in conjunction with the University of South Carolina Development Foundation.
