COLUMBIA, SC – September 18, 2012 – The Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties has announced the organization recipients of its annual arts awards. Each year, the Cultural Council reviews its grantees to select organizations that excel in the areas of Inspiration, Education, Collaboration and Innovation.
This year’s recipients will be honored at the annual Founders’ Dinner on October 18, 2012, at The Palmetto Club, Summit Club location.The recipient of the award for Education is Columbia City Jazz Dance Company. Inspiration recipient is 701 Center for Contemporary Art, Innovation is Pocket Productions, and Collaboration recipient is Opera-tunity Foundation.
“These organizations demonstrate how the arts contribute significantly to the fabric of our community,” said Norree Boyd-Wicks, executive director of the Cultural Council. “It is an honor to be able to recognize their achievements with these awards.”
