Dale Metzger named interim principal of Garrett Academy

July 18, 2018

Charleston County School District (CCSD) announced Dale Metzger as interim principal of Garrett Academy of Technology. Metzger has served as the school’s assistant principal for the past four years.

“Coach” Metzger joined the Garrett Academy staff in 2014 as the assistant principal and worked with grades nine through 11. Metzger is a native of Charleston and earned his undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston and his master’s degree from The Citadel. He enjoys serving the North Charleston community in his role with the school and can be heard on Friday nights in the fall as “The Voice of Falcon Football,” announcing the Garrett’s home football games.

Metzger is often joined by his wife Teresa and future Falcons, Bannon, Brody and Dalton – who are also avid fans of Falcon Athletics. Metzger continues to be a supporter of high school athletics, and in his spare time, serves as a South Carolina High School League Softball and Wrestling Official.
