Date Set for Town of Lexington Candidate Forum

October 2, 2025

The Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center, the Lexington County  Chronicle, and the League of Women Voters are jointly hosting a candidate forum for the  upcoming Town of Lexington council election.

The forum will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 6:15 p.m. at the North Lake Community  Learning Center (702 N. Lake Drive, Lexington). The event is free and open to the community.

Five candidates are vying for three council seats: incumbents Todd Carnes, Gavin Smith, and  Ron Williams, as well as challengers Greg Brewer and Doug Leonard.

“The purpose of this forum is to educate voters about the candidates and to bring business  and area residents together to hear how the candidates stand on various business and  community issues, “ said Angelle LaBorde, Chamber President & CEO.

Candidates will participate in a timed question-and-answer session and deliver brief opening  statements and closing remarks. The forum will be moderated by a Chamber representative.  Audience questions will not be permitted. For residents unable to attend in person, the forum  will be streamed live on the Lexington Chamber & Visitors Center’s Facebook page.

This forum offers residents the opportunity to hear directly from those seeking office, fostering  transparency, civic engagement, and informed decision-making—elements vital to the future  of a growing municipality like the Town of Lexington.

As a non-profit, nonpartisan organization, the Lexington Chamber does not support or oppose  any candidates for political office.
