Dementia Specialist Certification
June 16, 2014COLUMBIA, SC – The Lourie Center is hosting “Dementia Dialogues”, a free five-part learning experience designed to educate individuals who care for persons who exhibit signs and symptoms associated with Alzheimer’s Disease or related dementias. Ryan Simmons, MHA, CSA will lead the course. Five classes meet from 6:30-8:00 pm on June 26, July 1, July 3, July 8, and July 10.
A certificate of completion will be presented for each of the 5 sessions and a Dementia Specialist Certificate at the completion of all 5 sessions.
Recommended participants include: CNA’s, PCA’s, Nurses, Families, Activity Directors, and anyone who interacts with individuals with dementia. This program is provided at no cost to participants through the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina and the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
