Denmark Technical College inducts students into National Technical Honor Society
April 7, 2026Denmark Technical College recently inducted students into the National Technical Honor Society, recognizing academic excellence, leadership and commitment to technical education and workforce readiness.
The induction ceremony included formal proceedings highlighting the purpose of the organization, the meaning of its colors, emblem, insignia and motto, a candle lighting ceremony, and the pledge of membership. New members also received membership memorabilia as part of the celebration.
“Denmark Tech students are built for what’s next. They are not only meeting expectations, but exceeding them, demonstrating the focus, discipline and academic strength that position them to lead in high-demand fields,” said Eric Brown, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer.
Marci Middleton, Ph.D., vice president for academic affairs, added, “This level of achievement reflects a strong academic foundation and a commitment to excellence. Our students continue to show they are prepared to take the next step with confidence and purpose.”
The following students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society: Autumn Bradley, Torri-Ann Barnett, Ze’Kayla Brown, Dakoda Dixon, Endya Drain, Nyasia Grant, Mikel Hamilton, Sha’keem Harris, Darius Jenkins, Keilend Jenkins, Alexander Livingston Jr., Ariana Meadows, Jasmine Mobley, De’Aja Moody, Dominique O’Neal, Chantayanna Nelson, Brandon Perez, Jonathan Rolle, Priscilla Robinson, Myrtis Smith, Miriam Stevenson, Aiden Waine and Shakira Williams.
“The success of this event reflects the strength of our community and the dedication of those who support our students,” said Rosaland Kenner, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences. “We thank our sponsors, St. Phillip’s Church of God in Christ in Govan, Chef Denfield Wade and the culinary department, and our volunteers Nicole Stroman, Carla Jackson and Laqueshia Britt for their support.”
The following students were named as officers: Sha’keem Harris, president; Dominique O’Neal, vice president; Alexander Livingston Jr., executive assistant to the president and vice president; Ariana Meadows, secretary; and De’Aja Moody, treasurer.
“Serving as president is an opportunity to lead by example, support my peers and help guide our chapter in a way that reflects our commitment to excellence and growth,” said Harris.
“This experience is meaningful because it recognizes the effort we have put into our education. It motivates me to stay focused and continue building toward my future,” added inductee Jonathan Rolle.
The chapter is supported by advisors Mrs. Rosaland E. Kenner and Ms. Laqueshia Britt.
“Our students represent the very best of Denmark Technical College. Their achievements reflect our commitment to preparing graduates who are equipped with the skills, discipline and drive to succeed in their careers and communities,” said Brown.<
