Denmark Technical College joins national E-Mobility Fellowship Program to advance careers in clean energy

March 12, 2025

Denmark Technical College has joined the E-Mobility Fellowship Program, a nationwide initiative aimed at preparing students for careers in the electric vehicle and clean energy sectors. The partnership with EVHybridNoire, the largest national network of diverse EV drivers and enthusiasts, will offer DTC students hands-on training, mentorship and career development opportunities in the rapidly expanding clean transportation field.

The E-Mobility Fellowship Program is designed to provide participants with practical experience in key areas of the electric vehicle industry, including EV infrastructure, policy, design, engineering and sustainability. The program aims to equip students with the skills necessary to succeed in the growing e-mobility economy, which is expected to play a significant role in the transition to clean energy.

Malik Washington, an electromechanical engineering student at Denmark Technical College and a member of the 2024-2025 fellowship cohort, shared his experience in the program. “The fellowship has greatly expanded my understanding of how important different perspectives are in shaping the future of electric vehicles,” Washington said. “By incorporating a range of cultural, socioeconomic and professional experiences, we can develop more innovative solutions for the EV industry.”

Tená Baker, Program Lead at EVHybridNoire, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. “We are excited to welcome Denmark Technical College to the E-Mobility Fellowship Program,” Baker said. “This partnership will provide students with access to hands-on training, mentorship from industry leaders and the opportunity to connect with a national network of e-mobility advocates and stakeholders.”

The fellowship program will support students in several key areas, including career development, industry mentorship and networking opportunities with top professionals in the clean transportation sector. Students will have access to internships and job placement opportunities with leading industry partners, providing them with a competitive edge in the job market.

“At Denmark Technical College, we are committed to equipping our students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the emerging clean energy economy,” said Dr. Willie L. Todd Jr., president and CEO of Denmark Technical College. “The E-Mobility Fellowship Program provides invaluable resources and connections that will help our students become leaders in the transportation sector and contribute to the future of sustainable mobility.”
