Denmark Technical College practical nursing program earns full approval
October 2, 2025Denmark Technical College has announced that the South Carolina Board of Nursing has granted full approval to its practical nursing program, strengthening the pipeline of nurses in the state. The approval highlights Denmark Tech’s role in preparing skilled professionals to meet the region’s growing healthcare workforce needs.
“This approval is more than a regulatory requirement. It validates the program’s quality, integrity and resilience,” said Karen Myers, dean of the School of Nursing. “Over the past three years, our faculty and staff have worked tirelessly to meet the Board of Nursing’s rigorous standards while ensuring our students are fully prepared to serve the healthcare needs of our communities. I am deeply proud of their dedication.”
Practical nursing graduates from Denmark Tech provide care in hospitals, long-term care facilities and community health settings across the region. South Carolina faces a significant demand for nurses and the program ensures that students are ready to fill critical roles in the workforce upon graduation. With full approval, the program is positioned to continue producing highly qualified nursing professionals who can respond to current and future healthcare challenges.

Under state regulations, all nursing programs must be reviewed by the South Carolina Board of Nursing at least every eight years to maintain approval. Denmark Tech’s successful review reflects the program’s strong performance, commitment to excellence and dedication to student and community success.
