COLUMBIA, SC – September 16, 2009 – Sharon Walden is the Healthcare Consulting Manager with Derrick, Stubbs & Stith, LLP; specialty areas include cardiology, OBGYN, orthopaedics, podiatry, general surgery, internal medicine, ENT, family practice and assisted living facilities.
Sharon earned her Bachelor’s from LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. ; Attended University of South Carolina to obtain additional accounting classes necessary to sit for CPA exam.
Sharon has over 26 years of experience in the healthcare field, primarily in hospitals and medical practices. Responsibilities over the years have included Billing Manager, Admissions Manager, Director of Patient Financial Services and Director of Physician Practices – OBGYN Services.
Sharon is a member of AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders), MGMA, HFMA, SCMGMA (past president). She also serves as treasurer for the Dickerson Center for Children and Claude A. Taylor Elementary PTA. Speaking engagements include budgeting, breakeven concepts and financial practice management issues.
